Rocket.net Web Hosting Review 2026

rocket net web hosting review 2026

Rocket.net is one of those hosts that people talk about mostly for one thing: speed. We first wrote about it back in September 2020, when it was offering a $1 first month as a launch special. A lot has happened since, including a new owner. So, here is our fresh Rocket.net review for 2026. If you'd like to see how it looked back then, our original Rocket review is still there.

For this update, we went through every plan, price and fee on Rocket.net's pricing page on 6 November 2026. Managed WordPress plans start at $30/mo (or $25/mo if you pay yearly), and the biggest agency plan costs $900/mo, with Enterprise plans above that. One thing upfront, though. We didn't buy a plan and run our own speed tests for this update, so any speed claim below is Rocket.net's own, and I'll say so each time.

I've used WordPress since 2014, and several of my own eCommerce sites run on it, so I care a lot about how a host handles traffic and security without me babysitting it. Like every host, Rocket.net has good sides and bad sides. So, let's have a look at them.

All prices in this review are in US dollars, as shown on rocket.net in November 2026. The page shows prices with a "$" sign and no currency code, so confirm at checkout.

Rocket.net Review: The Goods

Rocket.net does a lot right, and most of it comes from one idea: put every site behind Cloudflare's enterprise network and include the extras other hosts sell separately. Here's what stood out.

Cloudflare Enterprise on Every Plan

This is Rocket.net's big selling point. Every plan, even the $30 Starter, runs through Cloudflare's Enterprise CDN with more than 275 locations, so your pages get served from somewhere close to the reader. In our 2020 review, that network had "over 200 locations", so it has grown. Rocket.net says this is what makes sites load fast, and plenty of customer quotes on its page talk about big drops in time to first byte. We didn't measure it ourselves, though.

Security You Don't Have to Set Up

Every plan includes a web application firewall, malware protection and free SSL. In plain English, bad bots and common attacks get blocked before they reach WordPress, and if something does get in, it's caught. For a small business owner who doesn't want to think about security plugins, that's a relief.

Backups Kept for 30 Days

Rocket.net takes automatic daily backups and keeps them for 30 days, and that's the same on every plan, from Starter up. Kinsta's entry plans keep backups for 14 days, so Rocket.net gives you more than twice the history. If you only notice a problem a couple of weeks later, that extra time really helps.

WP Rocket and WP Umbrella Included

Here's a nice bonus. Every plan comes with WP Rocket, a popular paid caching plugin, and WP Umbrella, a tool for monitoring sites and handling updates. Both normally cost money on their own. Add unlimited PHP workers and unmetered visitors, and you get a lot for $30.

Prices Don't Jump at Renewal

This one matters more than people think. Rocket.net's pricing page says, in its own words, "we'll never do price hikes on renewals." So, the $30 Starter plan stays $30, and if you pay yearly, you get two months free. Compare that with hosts where a cheap first year turns into a much bigger bill later, and you'll see why I like this.

Free Migrations, Done Fast

Migrations are free and unlimited on every plan. Rocket.net says 95% of them finish in under 12 hours, even for very large sites. And on monthly billing, the first month costs just $1, so you can move a site over, test it properly and decide.

Rocket.net Review: The Bads

Like any other host, Rocket.net has some rough edges. None of them is a deal-breaker, but you should know them before you sign up.

Storage and Bandwidth Are Tight on the Small Plans

The Starter plan gives you 10 GB of storage and 50 GB of bandwidth a month. Pro has 20 GB and 100 GB. For a normal blog, that's fine. But if you sell a lot of products with big images, or you host videos yourself, you could run into the limits. Go over, and Rocket.net charges $2 per GB of extra disk and $0.08 per GB of extra bandwidth.

It's Not Cheap for One Small Site

At $30 a month for one site, Rocket.net costs more than budget shared hosting, which can start under $3 for the first year. You're paying for Cloudflare Enterprise, security and support, not raw space. If your blog gets a few hundred visits a month, it's probably more than you need.

WordPress Only

Rocket.net is built for WordPress. There's no email hosting listed in the plans, so you'll need a separate email service for an address like you@yourstore.com.

A New Owner to Keep an Eye On

Rocket.net is now part of Hosting.com, the company formerly known as A2 Hosting, which says the acquisition "strengthened our lead" in WordPress. So far, the pricing page still promises no renewal hikes and the same features. Still, new owners sometimes change things, so it's worth watching. You can read more about the parent company in our Hosting.com review.

Rocket.net Then and Now: 2020 vs 2026

Since we first reviewed Rocket.net in 2020, here's how a few things have changed, based on our original review and Rocket.net's site today:

  • Uptime promise: 99.9% in our original review; 99.99% today.
  • CDN network: "over 200 locations" back then; more than 275 today.
  • First month: $1 as a launch special then, and still $1 on monthly billing now.

Rocket.net Web Hosting Plans

Rocket.net sells managed WordPress plans, agency plans and Enterprise plans. Now, let's have a look at each one.

Managed WordPress Plans

Prices start at $30/mo on monthly billing, or $25/mo billed yearly, and they stay the same after that. As the name itself suggests, Rocket.net manages the WordPress side for you. And no matter which one you pick, visitors aren't metered, PHP workers are unlimited, and you get the same security and CDN.

  • Starter ($30/mo, or $25 yearly): perfect if you've got one blog or a small business site, with 10 GB of storage and 50 GB of bandwidth to play with.
  • Pro ($60/mo, or $50 yearly): 3 sites, 20 GB and 100 GB of bandwidth. Rocket.net marks it as the popular choice.
  • Business ($100/mo, or $83 yearly): 10 sites, 40 GB and 300 GB of bandwidth, for a growing business with a few sites.
  • Expert ($200/mo, or $166 yearly): 25 sites, 50 GB and 500 GB of bandwidth, for people managing several client sites.

rocket net cost per site
What one WordPress site costs per month on Rocket.net's plans, checked 6 November 2026.

Here's something I noticed while doing the math. The Expert plan works out to $8 a site per month on monthly billing, which is actually cheaper per site than the agency plans (Agency Tier 3 is $10 a site, and even Tier 6 with 100 sites is $9). The agency plans give you more storage per site, though, so it depends on what you need.

Agency Plans

These start at $100/mo (or $83 yearly) and are built for agencies running lots of client sites:

  • Tier 1 ($100/mo): 10 sites, 50 GB and 200 GB of bandwidth.
  • Tier 2 ($200/mo): 20 sites, 75 GB and 500 GB.
  • Tier 3 ($300/mo): 30 sites, 100 GB and 600 GB. This is the popular agency plan.
  • Tier 4 ($400/mo): 40 sites, 150 GB and 800 GB.
  • Tier 5 ($600/mo): 60 sites, 175 GB and 1,200 GB.
  • Tier 6 ($900/mo): 100 sites, 225 GB and 1,500 GB.

Enterprise Plans

Enterprise starts at $649/mo for a setup with 8 CPU cores, 64 GB of RAM, 1 TB of NVMe storage and 1 TB of bandwidth, and goes up to $2,599 a month. These plans add a private Slack channel and enterprise phone support. Note that the 30-day money-back guarantee doesn't cover Enterprise.

Rocket.net vs Kinsta vs WP Engine

How does Rocket.net's $30 Starter plan compare with the entry plans at two other premium managed hosts we reviewed this month?

  • Rocket.net Starter: $30 a month, the price stays put, and you get one site, 10 GB, unmetered visitors and 30 days of backups.
  • Kinsta Single 35k: $35 a month for one site and 10 GB, with about 35,000 visits and 14 days of backups, plus free malware cleanup and an APM tool.
  • WP Engine Essential: $35 a month for one site and 10 GB, with 25,000 visits, 75 GB of bandwidth and backups kept 30 to 60 days.

So, Rocket.net is the cheapest of the three to start and doesn't cap visits. Kinsta and WP Engine come with bigger brand names and some extra tools of their own.

Who Should Choose Rocket.net?

  • I'd pick Rocket.net for a business site or store where speed and security matter more than having lots of storage.
  • Agencies will like the agency tiers, free migrations and the Expert plan's low price per site.
  • Bloggers who want hands-off WordPress and a price that doesn't jump at renewal will feel right at home.
  • I'd skip it if I needed lots of storage on a small budget, or wanted email in the same package.
